At NF Custom Carpentry, we treat every client like our only client. We specialize in premium millwork utilizing solid hardwoods and luxury veneers, including Black Walnut, White Oak, and Canadian Maple. Our design philosophy is simple: problem-solving first. What types of wood do you use for custom built-ins and vanities?

We use locally sourced hardwoods like rift sawn white oak, walnut, maple and many more. We choose what wood to used base on your home and priorities. The material on each project is chosen for longevity, durability, and beauty. For bathrooms, we normally use moisture resistant products like white oak, and moisture resistant veneered plywood. For built-ins, we use hardwoods, plywood, and MDF to fit your home seamlessly.

How do you handle wire management on a custom built-in or media wall?

We always start a project by figuring out what is the priority of your space. We can integrate wire passthroughs, install power bars, create voids in the cabinetry, and tie existing wires out of the way.

How long does a custom cabinetry or built-in project typically take?

Due to the nature of custom work, lead time varies drastically. It depends on the current wait list which you can get on by putting down the deposit for your project. This can be anywhere from 1 week to several months depending on how busy we are. Once you are next on our wait list, a typical project takes anywhere between 4-8 weeks from start, to finishing installation.

When do you use laminate instead of hardwood or hardwood veneer?

We use laminates like melamine inside hidden areas to help manage your project's overall cost. Custom woodworking is a significant investment, so we use durable laminates for the parts you do not see every day, like the inside of closed cabinets or drawers. This saves you money on the structural frame and allows us to focus your budget on the visible parts. For all the exterior doors, drawers, and finished panels, we use premium solid hardwoods and veneers so the final piece looks beautiful.

What is the process of ordering custom cabinetry and millwork?

  5. Production & Updates: We fabricate your piece in our shop, keeping you updated every step of the way.

  6. Installation & Final Payment: We deliver, carefully install with respect for your home, and walk you through the finished build.
